Description

Grove House is a small, detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is located on Quennington Lane, between Mauley and Church Roads. The house is built of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and brick end stacks, one on each section. The layout is L-shaped, consisting of a single-story section with an attic and a slightly lower projecting wing. Each section has a gabled dormer window through the eaves, with paired six-pane casement windows. The front of the house features a small two-light cambered head casement on the projecting wing, a glass lean-to in the angle, likely dating from the 20th century, a two-light casement with a timber lintel to the left of an open-gabled porch containing a half-glazed door, and a single-light window to the right. Single-story lean-to additions are present to the left and right hand returns.
