Description
The stable and carriage block at Trull House dates from the late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone on the southeast side, featuring quoins and a slate roof. The building has a tall gabled main block with a single-storey extension to the southwest. A string course runs below the eaves level. The main block includes a large relieving arch with two carriage entrances beneath it. Above the arch, there is a two-light ogee-headed stone-mullion window with a large lintel and a square hoodmould.
In the gable above, a clock and bell are positioned under a hipped canopy made of Cotswold stone slates, with moulded stone eaves supported by shaped stone brackets. The gable is topped with a ball finial and a weathercock. The northwest end features a small gable stack. The southwest side has a central gabled porch that leads to the roof of the single-storey extension, flanked by two wooden casements with stone lintels and quoins. Steps lead up to this level from the left of the extension, which has fine panelled and half-glazed doors in the Perpendicular style, along with two stable doors and two small cambered twin casements that have very large stone lintels and sills with offsets. Access to the upper level is originally provided by a flight of 14 stone steps on the northeast side, which features five twin casements with large stone lintels.
