Description

Three houses at 50, 52, and 54 Gloucester Street were built in 1902 by VA Lawson for the Bathurst Estate. The houses are constructed of coursed squared limestone, with the rear elevations and extensions in red brick, and have a concrete tile roof. They feature three ashlar chimney stacks with moulded tops on coped verge details, set on party walls and at the right end. Three gabled fronts face the street.

The houses are two storeys and have an attic, with a six-window frontage. The first floor has six two-light stone mullion-and-transom windows with metal casements; three similar windows with hoodmoulds are positioned within the gables. The ground floor has three matching windows and three plank doors, all set within chamfered stone surrounds, and all include matching 19th-century iron strap hinges with fleur-de-lys ends, 19th-century escutcheons, and single-pane overlights. A shallow chamfered plinth runs along the front, with moulded strings above the ground and first floors. There is coping to the gables. The interior has not been inspected. The houses are included on the list for their group value.
