Description

Star Cottage is a semi-detached house dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, originally built as one with the adjacent Old Bakehouse (which is not listed). The house is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a limestone slate roof and limestone coping. Brick replaces the original ashlar stacks.

The building is two storeys with an attic. The front facade features two 20th-century wood casements in the attic, and two 3-light stone mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars on the first floor. A single-storey extension to the front left has a 3-light metal casement in its gable end. A part-glazed panelled door is situated in a flat-chamfered surround on the left side. The right gable end has a stack, and a twin-flue axial stack is located to the left. A two-storey extension descends to a single storey at the rear right. The interior remains uninspected.
