Description

The Gilboin monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. James, approximately 2 metres south of the south porch. It commemorates Clare Gilboin, who died in 1783. The tomb is made of limestone and features a base with a moulded upper margin. It has fielded panels on the north and ends, while the south side is flanked by rectangular fluted panels. An inscription is present on the north side, also flanked by fluted panels. The monument is topped with moulded capping and a ridged capping above.
