Description
A small field barn, likely dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, located in Cowley. At the time of resurvey in January 1987, the barn was undergoing conversion for domestic use. The building is rectangular in shape, with projecting porches and lean-tos added to the north and south sides. The south-facing elevation features a small, rebuilt gabled porch on the left, which has a double-width doorway with a concrete lintel and a small 20th-century metal casement window above. The west gable end features a large 20th-century casement window and an owl hole. The north-facing elevation has a large projecting porch on the left with double plank doors and a timber lintel, along with an owl hole towards the apex of the gable. The gable ends are finished with roll-cross saddles. Inside, the barn has three bays and a 20th-century roof structure.
