Description
The Packer monument is a chest tomb located about 2.5 meters west of the west end in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Kempsford. It commemorates Thomas Packer, who died in 1736. The tomb is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth and capping on its base. It has plain recessed panels on the ends and sides, with an additional panelled strip flanking the side panels. The top is a stepped tent shape with straight edges. At the time of the survey in March 1985, the monument was partially overgrown.
