Description
No. 12 Silver Street is a large house that forms part of a terrace, built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The ground floor is made of ashlar stone on a plinth, with coursed and dressed stone above. It features stone string courses above the windows and a small wooden cornice with modillions. The roof is covered with Cotswold stone slates and has a large stone stack at the left end and a lateral stack at the right. The house has two storeys and three windows, which are 19th-century margin sashes with quoins, large lintels, and keystones, with the central window being narrower. On the ground floor, there are two windows with keystones and a central doorcase that has pilaster strips and consoles supporting a small flat stone hood. The door is decorative with moulded panels and a plain fanlight above. To the left of the main door, there is an additional door with four flush panels and a plain fanlight. There are also windows to the cellar to the right of the doorway and an arch for a mud scraper to the left.
