Description
The gates and gatepiers to the east of Edgeworth Manor are 18th-century structures made of ashlar limestone and wrought iron. They feature two large square gatepiers, each with small pedestrian gates on either side and a short section of screen wall between two smaller piers topped with iron railings. The main gatepiers have recessed corners and moulded caps adorned with gadrooned flaming urns. The screen wall includes small piers that rise flush with the wall face, also featuring moulded caps. The piers closest to the main gatepiers have ball finials, while the other pair has polyhedron finials. The gates themselves have a simple design with a central horizontal scroll panel, a square top, and two leaves for the central carriage opening.
