Description

A row of three chest tombs is located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, approximately 4 meters east of the east end of the chancel. These tombs date from the 17th century. The southern tomb belongs to Rowland (?) Feethem and is dated 1650, while the northern tomb is dedicated to William Freeman. All three tombs are made of limestone and feature moulded plinths, undecorated sides, and thick capping stones with moulded margins. There is a partially legible inscription in capital letters on the north side of the tomb for William Freeman, and another partially legible inscription in capitals at the west end of the Rowland (?) Feethem tomb. The middle tomb remains unidentified.
