Description
The Boulton Monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard approximately 6 meters south of the Church of St. Michael. It dates from 1800 and is made of limestone. The tomb has a rectangular shape with recessed corners and features fielded inscription panels on each face except for the south side, which has a raised circular panel decorated with floral designs in the corners. The top of the monument is moulded, with a cross-fluted band and a pyramid chamfered cap, while the base is also moulded. The north side is inscribed with the name RICHARD JEFFERIES BOULTON, who died in 1800, and the south side is inscribed with the name ELIZABETH BOULTON, who died in 1826.
