Description
The Gables is a building that was originally two cottages, now converted into one house. It dates from the late 17th century and features a large 20th-century extension at the rear. The exterior is made of random coursed rubble stone with a stone slate roof and stone end stacks. The structure is a single range positioned at right angles to the road, facing south down the village street, and consists of one storey with an attic.
The original design included two gables on the south side, each featuring a two-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould. In the center, there is an inserted 20th-century gable that has a three-light metal window. The ground floor retains two original three-light stone mullion windows with square hoodmoulds on either side of a slightly off-centre 20th-century glazed door. To the left of the door, there is an inserted single-light stone window with a square hoodmould.
