Description

This large cottage, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, has been enlarged and altered in the late 20th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a stone slate roof with a renewed stone ridge stack that has a moulded cornice. The building is L-shaped, with a single storey and attic, and includes an additional loft window on the mostly new left-hand return.

On the ground floor, there are three 2-light wood casements with timber lintels, with the far-right window being a completely new opening. To the left of centre is a chamfered stone doorcase leading to a 19th-century gabled porch, which contains a 6-panel door with the top two panels glazed, two fielded panels, and two flush panels. Above the door to the right is a small stone-framed blocked single light, which likely originally lit a stairway. Directly above, there is a gabled dormer on the eaves featuring a 2-light wood casement and a new skylight immediately to the left. The right-hand return has a 3-light stone mullion window with a straight dripmould on the first floor, and a plain 3-light wood window below.
