Description

Greyhound Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely originated in the 17th century, with a refronting from the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and dressed rubble stone, featuring alternating flush quoins and a stone slate roof, with ashlar end stacks that have offsets. The building consists of a single range with a cross range at the center of the rear, a long single-storey additional range to the north, and a small lean-to range to the south. It has two storeys and an attic.

The main facade is divided into two sections and includes four windows. On the left side, there are two 19th-century margin sashes, while the right side features two 2-light stone mullion windows with transoms. The ground floor has a single 19th-century margin sash on the left, a doorcase with a projecting semi-circular beaded soffit, a plain fanlight, and double doors with three flush panels each. To the right, there are two stone mullion windows with transoms. A string band at different levels runs above the ground floor windows, with a clear join in the stonework visible above the front door on the right side. The facade is topped with three small gabled dormers that have UPVC windows. The farmhouse is reputed to be the site of an inn built by Sir Edmund Tame in the 15th century.
