Description
The stile and gate at the north-west corner of the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary are likely from the 18th and 19th centuries. The stone stile features inward sloping piers and inner curved top stones that create a narrow V shape, allowing people to pass through while keeping animals out. The piers are topped with sloping coping stones that have roll moulding, following the line of the wall. To the north, there are plain ashlar gate piers with offsets on both the east and west sides, topped with gabled coping stones. A semi-circular wrought iron lamp holder, which includes a lamp, is positioned above the gate, which is made of plain wood and situated beneath the lamp holder. There is also a coursed rubble wall with a coping that adjoins to the north.
