Description

No. 14 is a detached cottage located set back from the road in Barnsley Village. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and is built of random coursed rubble stone with a stone slate roof featuring a single brick ridge stack. The cottage consists of a single main range, with a 20th-century porch and stairwell extension at the rear that are not of special interest, along with a small adjoining lean-to. It is a single storey with an attic. The main front faces south and includes an eaves gabled dormer with twin metal casements. On the ground floor, there are 20th-century wooden casements with one, two, and three lights, as well as a half-glazed and boarded door to the right.
