Description
The Village Pub, formerly known as the Greyhound Inn, is a building that dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. Originally three cottages, it has been converted into an inn. The structure is made of random coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with three stone stacks. It is a single storey with an attic.
On the ground floor, there are four 2-light windows in the left wing, where there were formerly two doors on the inside and windows on the outside. The right wing has a glazed door and a three-light window, which is slightly higher. The building has four gabled dormers on the eaves, with two on each wing. The windows are from the 20th century.
Inside, the pub retains several plain chamfered and unstopped beams on the ground floor, along with chamfered joists in the central part. There is a large timber bressumer above the fireplace that uses the right-hand end stack. Additionally, a three-light window in this section still has its internal wooden shutters.
