Description

Sundial House is a detached house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a plinth, and has a tile roof. There are two stone stacks at each end, and a single-range design with two cross gables. The house has two storeys and an attic. It features two windows on the front, with three- and two-light wooden casements under wooden lintels. The ground floor has a central doorcase with a large, flat wooden hood featuring a frieze and cornice, supported by wooden brackets. The door is a six-panel design, with the two upper panels glazed and the two central panels fielded. Each gable contains a single-pane window with six panes, and a stone sundial is located below the right-hand window. A two-storey wing extends to the right, facing partially in roughcast and with a hipped slate roof. This wing has a twelve-pane sash window on the first floor and a multi-pane bow window on the ground floor.
