Description
This is a 19th-century stone water trough with a wall behind and to the right, located on the corner of the north side of the main road, opposite the former school in Turkdean. The trough is made of drystone walling and is possibly carved from a single large limestone block or several large slabs, measuring approximately 6 meters by 1 meter. Water flows from a stone spout in the wall to the right of the trough into a smaller trough that is divided from the main trough. The water then flows out at the left-hand end into a small pool surrounded by a curved stone edge. There is also a small stone-lined niche in the wall above where the water enters the trough.
