Description

TURKDEAN UPPER TURKDEAN SP 11 NW 6/88 Stone water trough and wall behind and to right of trough, on corner on north side of main road opposite the former school GV II Stone water trough and wall behind and to right of trough. C19. Drystone wall. Trough possibly basically hewn out of one massive limestone block or at least a few very large slabs. Circa 6m by 1m. Water pours via stone spout in wall right of trough into smaller trough subdivided from main trough and flows out at left- hand end of trough into small pool with curved stone surround. Small stone-lined niche in wall above point where the water enters the trough.
