Description
The Grey House is a detached house dated and initialled 'T.H. 1816' on a diamond-shaped plaque located high up in the right gable end. It features 20th-century extensions at the rear designed in the Cotswold style. The main body of the house is rectangular, symmetrical, and 2 1/2 storeys tall, with a three-windowed facade. It has two 2-light half dormers and a small single light window below the eaves between the dormers. The ground and first floors are lit by 3-light casements set within segmental-headed surrounds, and there is a large bull's-eye window between the first-floor windows. The central door, which is from the 20th century, has glazing bars and a flat canopy above it. To the left, there is a two-storey single bay 20th-century extension with a 3-light casement that mimics the windows of the main body on the first floor. The ground floor features French doors within a segmental-headed surround. All windows have leaded panes. There are two flights of stone steps leading up to the 20th-century double plank doors of the extension at the rear right, which is topped by a gabled stone canopy supported on stone brackets. The gable end stacks have moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
