Description

WICK RISSINGTON WYCK RISSINGTON VILLAGE SP 12 SE 1/273 Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St Laurence c7m south of the nave GV II Bale tomb to Katharine Humphries, wife of Richard Humphries, died 1746. Limestone on stone standing formerly with iron railing on a low plinth. Moulded plinth. Inscription within a cartouche-like surround on the north side flanked by margin panels with floral bosses and hanging bellflower. Similar but unused inscription plaque on the opposite side. Cartouche-like inscription plaques at either end. That on the west end has the initials 'K. H. 1746' and a winged angel's head above. Quarter balusters at the corners of the tomb. Thick moulded capping with bale with gadrooned decoration above.
