Description

This is an early 19th-century outfarm complex. It is constructed from limestone rubble with stone slate roofs, with a gabled form except for the barn, which has a half-hipped roof. The buildings are arranged in a U-shaped plan, featuring a 5-bay barn to the north and a yard flanked by shelter sheds. The barn has outshots on its sides, and a hipped porch with a timber lintel over a double doorway leading to a central threshing floor. The shelter sheds have circular stone piers on the west side and timber posts on the east side, with the timber posts extended southward in the mid-19th century to connect with the south yard wall. This wall returns along the south side to meet the entrance in the southwest corner. Inside the barn, there are collar truss roofs with butt purlins and raking struts. Feeding passages incorporate timber troughs. The complex represents a well-preserved example of an early 19th-century outfarm.
