Description
Priory Studio is a 17th-century building located on the east side of The Square. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and features a gable facing the street. The building has three storeys and includes one window on the ground floor, which is a 16-pane sash, along with a modern glazed door. The first floor has a tripartite sash window, and there is a small sash window above it. The gable has an oval window with an "eyelid" design and a footstone with a finial on the right side. The rear of the building features mullioned windows. Inside, there is a notable Tudor sash fireplace on the front of the first floor. Historically, Priory Studio was a single unit with the Grey House until this century, and the staircase was likely located in the Grey House. The alleyway to the left of the Grey House remains part of Priory Studio. In the 19th century, Priory Studio was part of The Wine Vaults, which included the White Hart and the Grey House.
