Description

This is a 17th-century building on Chapel Street, forming a group with numbers 1 to 3 Queen Square. It is constructed of hammerdressed rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is slate, pitched, and features ornamental cresting. The building has two storeys and attics, with three ranges of double-hung sash windows featuring glazing bars. A single door is topped with a flat hood supported by consoles, and there’s an oculus with a plain embrasure, which is now blocked. A mid-18th century window was bricked up in the south end, featuring a plain embrasure and keystone. Remaining features include ashlar gable coping and a chimney plinth. On the east side is a mullioned window with a hoodmould.
