Description
Town Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with an early 17th century block attached on the right. The mid to late 17th century section is constructed of squared limestone built to courses, featuring ashlar end stacks with twin flues on the left. The early 17th century block is made of limestone rubble and has a rectangular ashlar chimney stack on the right gable end. Both sections are covered by an artificial stone roof.
The early 17th century block has a two-room plan that is one room deep and is two storeys high, with two dormers featuring two-light 20th century casement windows. Below, there are two 3-light 20th century metal casement windows, all with glazing bars, and a small blocked window that may have once lit a passage. The mid to late 17th century block has a one-room plan that is also one room deep, is two storeys high, and has a cellar underneath. It features two windows, including two and three-light stone-mullioned windows with 20th century metal casements. Access is provided by a studded door with a decorative knocker in the shape of a hand, which is located off centre to the right and is reached by seven steps, all set within a four-centred arched surround.
