Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The slate roofs have raised stone coped gables and three gable stacks, one with a brick shaft and the other two with paired ashlar shafts and cornices.
The building is two storeys high with attics and has a three-bay front. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. On the first floor, there are three similar windows, and between the left-hand pair is a fire insurance plaque. All openings have plain ashlar lintels and keystones.
In the roof, there are two raking dormers with glazing bar sashes and leaded cheeks. To the left, there are three bays of service wings, each progressively recessed and reducing in height. An off-centre planked door is accompanied to the right by a three-light glazing bar casement and a glazing bar sash. On the first floor, there is a similar window, a two-light casement, and a two-light sliding sash, all with plain ashlar lintels.
At the rear, there is a two-light window to the cellar and single blank lights on the upper floors, all from the 17th century with moulded ashlar surrounds.
