Description
Tarry Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the mid 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins and features a stone slate roof. The chimney stacks were restored in the 20th century using ashlar. The main structure is rectangular and has a two-storey facade with three windows. The windows are flat-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, featuring two and three lights, and include 19th-century metal windows with horizontal glazing bars and early fastenings. There is a central gabled porch added in the 20th century, which has a plank door with a timber lintel. The cottage has gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear right, which is not of special interest.
