Description

The stable, outbuildings, and linking walls are part of the north-east boundary of Daglingworth House and date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The stable is constructed from coursed roughly squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring a squared and dressed limestone stack. It has a rectangular plan with small lean-tos on the south-west and north-east sides. A short wall extends north-east from the stable to a small outbuilding, while another wall runs south for approximately 25 meters to another outbuilding.

On the south-west elevation of the stable block, there are two six-pane top-opening casements with timber lintels on either side of the doorway. The original plank door is positioned off-centre to the left within a round-headed surround that includes a keystone and imposts. Above the door is a semi-circular window with glazing bars, and there is a wide opening with a concrete lintel on the far right. A single-width door is located at the gable end of the stable, with a pitching door above it. There is also a plank door on the right-hand return of the lean-to, which projects forward to the left.

A small outbuilding, resembling an earth closet, is linked to the northern corner of the stable block by a wall. Another outbuilding, connected by a wall approximately three meters high on the south-east side, features a single plank door positioned off-centre to the right on the south-west side. These buildings and their linking walls create a significant feature in the center of the village.
