Description

The gatehouse to Daglingworth House dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan that is open at both ends. On the side walls, there are two low blocked doorways featuring timber lintels. The roof has hips that are pitched at different angles. Inside, there are two early roof trusses that seem to be made from reused timbers, along with early purlins, although the rafters were replaced in the 20th century.
