Description
Rectory Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage, possibly designed by James Piers St Aubyn. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a red tile roof and a limestone stack. The building follows a ‘T’ shaped plan. It has one and a half storeys. The front gable features a three-light stone-mullioned casement with a relieving arch. Below, on the projecting gable, is a single-light casement with a double-chamfered dressed stone surround and a relieving arch. Above this is a three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with a relieving arch. A 19th-century plank door is set within a moulded dressed stone surround, positioned lower right within an ashlar porch. The porch has a hipped roof and side walls that curve down and inwards at the front. A five-light stone-mullioned canted bay window is located on the right-hand return. There is a single axial stack. The interior has not been inspected.
