Description
2, The Court is a cottage dating from the 18th century, located in Daglingworth. It is one of a pair of cottages and adjoins No 1 at a right angle. The construction is limestone rubble with a stone slate roof, and a 20th-century restored stack featuring coursed squared and dressed limestone. The cottage has a rectangular plan with its gable end facing the road. The windows are mostly late 19th- and early 20th-century two-light wooden casements with timber lintels and horizontal glazing bars. A 20th-century metal casement with leaded panes is set within the blocked opening of a former doorway, and a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges sits beneath a timber lintel on the right. A 20th-century single-light casement with a concrete lintel is present on the ground floor of the gable end facing the road, paired with a probable reused 2-light stone-mullioned casement on the first floor. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected.
