Description
The Jackson family monument is a late 18th-century pedestal tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Peter, approximately 0.5 meters east of the Newman family monument in Windrush Village. It is made of limestone and has a square plan with concave sides.
The south side features an inscription dedicated to Ann, the wife of Anthony Jackson, who died in 1798. The north side has an inscription for Charles, the son of Anthony and Jane Jackson, who died in 1831. The east side bears an inscription for Jane, the wife of Anthony Jackson, while the west side commemorates John, the son of Jane and Anthony Jackson, who died in 1816.
The monument includes a moulded plinth and quarter balusters at the corners. Above each inscription is a frieze with scrollwork decoration, and there is fluting above the quarter balusters. The lower capping stone has a moulded margin, and a large urn sits on a stepped plinth above the tomb.
