Description

Bear Cottage and Gardener's Cottage is a building that was formerly several adjoining cottages, now combined into two. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with a stone slate roof and scattered rendered stacks. The building has an L-shaped layout and features either two storeys or a single storey with an attic.

The eastern front has two small two-light wooden casement windows located under the eaves, a boarded door to the left with a flat stone hood supported by brackets, and a four-light 20th-century leaded casement window with a concrete lintel to the right. The main range extends to the south along the lane and has two small gables. The fenestration is scattered, with some windows renewed and others in blocked doorways, mostly featuring timber lintels.
