Description
No 5 Little Tarlton is a small detached cottage built between 1909 and 1926, part of a group of seven cottages designed by Ernest Barnsley. The cottages share a similar style, constructed from coursed and dressed stone with a stone slate roof and stone stacks featuring offset and moulded cornices. They are all single storey with an attic. The windows are scattered and mostly consist of either 2 or 3-light casements with cambered heads, or 2-light casements with timber lintels, along with some small 4 or 6-pane single lights. The doors are made of planks. No 5 is a small square block with a large gable on the east side, featuring 2-light casements with timber lintels on both floors, and a nearly blind west wall with a plank door to the right.
