Description
The Couling monument is a chest tomb located about 8 meters north-east of the north porch in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Kempsford. It dates from the late 18th century and is associated with the Couling family. The tomb is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth and capping on a two-step base. The end and side panels are recessed and have reeded strips flanking the side panels. The top of the tomb is a stepped tent shape with straight edges.
