Description
The stable barn and adjoining cottage, located about 25 meters east of Church Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan, with the cottage positioned at right angles to the left gable end of the barn.
The barn/store includes two double-width doorways, two single-width plank doorways, and two 2-light casements, along with ventilation slits. The cottage is two storeys high, featuring a low double plank door on the ground floor, stone steps leading up to a plank door on the left, and a small 2-light casement to the right of the door. There is also a 20th-century six-pane top-opening casement in the left gable end of the cottage. The north gable end of the barn/stable has stepped capping.
Inside the barn/stable, a stable was likely added later, as indicated by a brick wall that now divides the two spaces. The original structure includes collar and tie beam trusses with struts and triple purlins.
