Description

The wash house in Little Barrington Village dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and is a single storey. Inside, there are two rooms; one contains a washing copper, while the other has a small fireplace with a stone surround, which may have served as a drying room. This structure is an interesting and unaltered example of its kind.
