Description
Nut Tree Cottage is one of a pair of cottages built in the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring a stone slate roof on the main body and a large concrete tile roof on the extension. The ashlar stack has been repaired in brick. The main body has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high, with a single-storey extension on the left gable end. The facade of the main body has two windows: one is a 19th-century two-light wooden casement with leaded panes, and the other is a 20th-century single-light metal casement with glazing bars. There is also a similar single-light casement with a long timber lintel below. On the ground floor, to the left of an early plank door with strap hinges, there is a two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement. The extension features a plank door at its centre and a 20th-century single-light window to the right of the door. The interior has not been inspected.
