Description

A pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on the east side of Sherborne Street in Lechlade. They are built of coursed rubble stone with a stone slate roof, featuring a central brick ridge stack. The cottages are single-range with a rear catslide outshut, and comprise a single storey plus attic. Each cottage has two windows, with 2-light wood casements. Two gabled dormers are present, each containing smaller windows matching the casement style. Each cottage has a half-glazed door, and a gabled porch hood supported on brackets. Number 2 Kent Place has scalloped bargeboards to its porch, and 2-light wood casements visible from the inside. Local deeds suggest that the cottages incorporate fabric from a property dating back to 1585.
