Description
Nos 6, 7, and 8 Burford Street are three adjoining houses dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble stone, featuring large quoins on Nos 6 and 7, and have a stone slate roof, while No 8 has a hipped tile roof. There are brick end stacks and a lateral brick stack on No 8. The houses have a single front range with rear extensions; Nos 6 and 7 are two storeys with an attic, while No 8 is two storeys.
Nos 6 and 7 each feature one large early 19th-century triple sash window on each floor, with 4/12/4 panes. The first-floor windows have wooden lintels, while the ground-floor windows have concrete lintels. The doors are centrally located, with No 6 having a bolection-moulded door with three panels and No 7 having four panels, both with plain fanlights above. Each of these houses has a large gabled dormer: No 6 has a 6-pane sash window, and No 7 has twin wooden casements. No 8 has 6-pane margin sash windows on each floor with stone lintels and a door with four flush panels to the left.
