Description
Arch Cottage is a house in a terrace, dating from the early to mid 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with projecting eaves, with no visible stacks. The building is a single range, standing two storeys tall with an attic.
The façade includes two windows on the upper floor, each with two-light stone mullions set in flush stone surrounds, and wooden lights. On the ground floor, there is a four-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould to the left, and to the right, a doorcase that also has a square hoodmould. This doorcase features a shallow triangular-headed arch adorned with a quatrefoil and mouchette panelling in the spandrels. A short passage leads behind the door, which is accessed through a wrought iron gate to a plank door. Additionally, there are two gabled dormers on the roof, each with twin wooden casements and moulded wood architraves.
