Description
The stables at Dean Farm, located approximately 20 meters south west of Lower Cottages, date from the early to mid-17th century, with an addition from the early 19th century. The building is constructed from random rubble limestone and features Welsh and stone slate roofs. It is two storeys high, with a single-storey cartshed that has an attic at the north east end.
The central entrance has a Tudor arched doorway with an early plank door, and there is a loft doorway above and to the left. The building includes three 20th-century replacement casements with timber lintels, one of which is in a lean-to on the left side. The cartshed has a doorway with a timber lintel, which is partially obscured due to modifications made to the stable; there is a plank door on the remaining half of the opening. Additionally, there is a blocked doorway at the north east end that has been infilled with a casement. The interior is still fitted out as a stable.
