Description

Milestone located on the south side of the A433 in Coates, dating from the early 19th century. It is a single stone slab with a rounded top, approximately 0.6 meters high. Attached to the stone is an iron plate featuring an inscription in embossed lettering. The plate is rectangular with a rounded section projecting at the top, painted white with black lettering that reads: "IV/To CIRENCESTER/VI/To TETBURY/XXIX/To BATH".
