Description
No 52 is a former post office and detached cottage built in the mid-18th century, with an enlargement to the south in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with quoins and features a stone slate roof, along with stone end stacks that are partly external on the right end. It is a long single range of single storey and attic. The earlier section on the right has two gabled dormers on the eaves, each with 2-light casements and vents. On the ground floor, there is a half-glazed door to the left and a twin 6-pane casement to the right, both featuring timber lintels. The later, higher block on the left has a similar gabled dormer through the eaves and a renewed twin casement with quoins below. There is also a single storey wing on the far left that was under restoration at the time of the survey in June 1985.
