Description
Roundhouse Cottage is a small cottage located to the north of the Round House, which served as part of the accommodation for the canal and lock-keeper at the junction of the Thames and Severn Canal and the River Thames. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The cottage is built of rubble stone with flush quoins and features a stone slate roof on the west side and a tile roof on the east side. It has one front lateral stack and one ridge stack, both made of brick. The structure consists of a single range that is one storey high with an attic, and there is a small single storey extension at the rear (east).
The front of the cottage has three 2-light wood casement windows with flush stone lintels, and to the right of the centre, there is a half-glazed 20th-century door with a timber lintel. The south gable end features a large timber lintel supporting a 20th-century half-glazed door with a sidelight, along with a 3-light wood casement window above.
