Description
The Seagrave Arms is a house, now a public house, dating to the 17th century with a substantial early 19th-century addition. It is constructed of coursed and squared limestone with a stone slate roof to the original 17th-century section; the later addition features limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. The building has a square plan, incorporating a central staircase and an attached 17th-century wing. The main facade has three windows across two storeys, while the side elevation has two. A plain upper floor band runs along the main elevation. It features 16-pane sash windows with keystone lintels under a hipped roof. The 17th-century wing has recessed, chamfered, and ovolo-moulded mullion windows; one large, three-light window facing east was added in the 19th century, and a small, trefoil-headed lancet window is located at the south gable end. Chimneys are topped with moulded caps.
