Description

The monument to William Phillips is located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Lawrence, approximately 8 meters east of the chancel. This Grade II listed chest tomb, commemorating William Phillips who died in 1838, is made of limestone and features a rectangular shape on a stepped plinth with inset corners. The capping of the tomb rises in three stages to a ridge. It is one of three chest tombs situated at the east end of the chancel and is prominently visible from Main Street.
