Description
Nos. 10 and 11 are two semi-detached estate houses located in Adlestrop, built around 1870 for Harman Grisewood, with 20th-century extensions. The houses are constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone and sandstone, featuring ashlar quoins and a stone slate roof. They have an L-shaped plan, with a projecting porch on the left and a stack protruding from the right gable end. The buildings are 1 and a half storeys tall. The facade includes a gable end that projects forward on the left and a gabled half-dormer on the right. There are 2 and 3-light metal casements with single horizontal glazing bars and stopped hoods, along with a 4-light canted bay window on the ground floor of the gable end. A 19th-century plank door with decorative hinges is set within an ogee arched surround to the right of the gable end. The projecting porch has a round-arched head, and there is a plain stone shield towards the apex of the front gable. The gable ends feature flat coping with moulded kneelers, and there are triple stacks on the right gable end as well as an axial stack from the left-hand gable. The interiors have not been inspected.
