Description

The stables at The Old Rectory date from the 18th century and are constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and sandstone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring an ashlar stack. The building is one and a half storeys high and has two plank doors, one with a concrete lintel and the other with a timber lintel. Above the left-hand door is a small two-light leaded casement window that retains some original glass. There is also a plank pitching door with a gable above it leading to the hayloft on the right side. A stack is located at the left gable end. The stables are included mainly for their group value, as they are situated immediately adjacent to the entrance of the church.
