Description

The King Monument is a chest tomb located about 8 meters north of the north porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Kempsford. It commemorates Humphrey King, who died in 1832. The monument is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth and capping on a tall two-step base. It has recessed end and side panels with additional flanking strips on the sides, and a plain frieze. The top is a stepped tent shape with straight edges.
